Mike Krombeen’s understanding of policy and politics has allowed him to excel in various government related roles. He is respected for his work on issues ranging from appropriations, gaming, workforce and economic development and higher education. Mike is responsible for helping to secure tens of millions of dollars in state appropriations for crucial programing provided by community colleges and non-profits. He is a tireless advocate for programs that work to educate and grow our Michigan workforce.
Prior to joining Midwest Strategy Group, Mike served as Legislative Director in the Michigan House of Representatives for two separate state lawmakers. In addition, Mike has successfully run several political campaigns at the state and local level.
Mike is an active volunteer within the public policy arena and was a gubernatorial appointment to serve on the 21st Century Advisory Council, an initiative to ensure Michigan stays current on issues of technology as it pertains to government performance. In 2014, he was selected as part of the 2014 Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation fellowship, a partnership between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and the University of Michigan. He currently serves on the Parks and Recreation Committee for his local community.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
