Mike Malane is known for his expertise in the areas of energy, gaming, cannabis regulation, education, and local government.
Prior to joining Midwest Strategy Group, Mike served as Chief of Staff in the Michigan Senate. Known for his political acumen and organizational skills, Mike has managed and assisted several campaigns for public office. From database management to fundraising, he has shown an ability to assemble winning coalitions and strategically build successful campaigns in multiple levels of government.
In addition to his work in Lansing and on campaigns, Mike has also served in multiple local government roles, including as a local school board member and planning commission member. These roles give him added insight into the activities of local governments and their intrinsic ties to the inner workings of Lansing.
Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan-Dearborn where he graduated with High Distinction. As a student there, he was involved in many extracurricular activities, most notably as a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society. In his spare time, Mike serves as a member on the Habitat for Humanity Michigan Awards Banquet Committee.
