Ryan Wardin is respected for his expertise in energy policy, education, worker’s compensation, PAC management, and campaign finance law.
At Midwest Strategy Group, Ryan leads efforts on behalf of clients to diversify and modernize Michigan’s energy laws and regulations by working hand-in-hand with leaders from both sides of the aisle, the Michigan Public Service Commission, and a wide range of additional stakeholders. Ryan was intimately involved with the state energy rewrite in 2016 and is well known for his expertise in local level grassroots efforts surrounding solar and wind development.
Before joining Midwest Strategy Group, Ryan served as a Legislative Director in the Michigan House of Representatives. During his time in the House, Ryan was the lead staffer on the House Natural Gas Subcommittee. In this capacity, he assisted with drafting legislation, preparing testimony, and testifying before House and Senate committees.
Known for his success in the political arena, Ryan has taken his wide array of campaign experience prior to working in the House and applied them to effective advocacy efforts in Lansing and across the State. Ryan has led activities in several areas including fundraising, campaign strategy and communication plans for several state and local campaigns. Additional experience includes volunteer coordinating, extensive database management and opposition research.
Ryan attended Northwood University to obtain a Marketing Degree. Ryan also serves as a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters. In addition, he assists with efforts in his hometown to provide advanced placement civics students an opportunity to experience their government in action through a scholarship that includes an educational trip to Washington, D.C.
